Exclusive tips for pub owners .. How to run a (successful) pub in HCMC, Vietnam

(Friendly note:¬† If you are the owner of an establishment, do take heed… Otherwise, your place is doomed; it’s just a matter of time)

MUST HAVEs (remember APE):

  1. Attentiveness¬† – how many arms must the customers wave to get a waiter’s/waitress’s attention?
  2. Pleasant (& friendly) staff – and a few English words go a long way!
  3. Equal treatment – everyone is a customer, not just people who (you think) are rich foreigners!

BIG NO-NOs:

  • “In-your-face” request for tips (customers are not walking cashboxes!)
  • Desperate whining by waitresses for ladies-drinks (ditto)
